Out Now! ‘Strange World,’ a new original film from Disney, has been released in theatres and cinemas. Because Disney is in our licencing portfolio, we thought we’d tell you everything we know about the film, including a brief synopsis, the trailer, and where you can see it.

Walt Disney Animation Studios original action-adventure ‘Strange World’ journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest—and by far— most crucial mission. Helmed by Don Hall who directed the Oscar winning ‘Big Hero 6’, “Raya and the Last Dragon” and co-director/writer Qui Nguyen who co-wrote ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’, and produced by Roy Conli who produced the Oscar winning ‘Big Hero 6’, ‘Tangled’.

Disney Elemental – Here is Where to View the BRAND NEW Trailer

Disney and Pixar have released the first teaser trailer and poster for Elemental. Disney is within our licencing portfolio and so we thought we would tell you everything we know so far about it and how to view the trailer.

Elemental is an all-new, original movie that takes place in Element City. That’s where the fire, water, land and air residents live together. In the teaser trailer it introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.

The movie’s director, Peter Sohn, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about why this movie is so deeply personal to him, while detailing its seven-year journey to our screens; “This movie is about thanking your parents and understanding their sacrifices,” he continues. “My parents both passed away during the making of this thing. And so, it is hugely emotional, and I’m still processing a lot of it.”

Sohn is no stranger to the world of Pixar after working on the likes of Finding Nemo, Up, The Incredibles, Incredibles 2, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Luca and several others. Most recently, he lent his voice to Lightyear’s breakout feline character, Sox, winning the hearts of Disney fans in the process.

The animated film is produced by Denise Ream and features the voices of Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Ember and Wade, respectively, Elemental is set to be released on June 16th, 2023.

10 Facts you didn’t know about SpongeBob!

SpongeBob SquarePants is undoubtedly one of the most lovable and recognisable characters in the history of animation. The show has left its mark on kids, teens and adults with its wacky scenarios and charming characters. Whether an adult or a teenager or a toddler, the show and the character is loved by one and all. Of all the characters in the show, the most popular is often said to be SpongeBob and Patrick Star.

 As this lovable character is within our licencing portfolio, we thought we would bring you 10 facts about SpongeBob you may not know about:

SpongeBob was originally called SpongeBoy, but that name was copyrighted by a mop company.

SpongeBob can never pass his driving test no matter how many times he tries!

SpongeBob’s birthday is July 14th, 1986.

25% of SpongeBob SquarePants viewers are adults with no children.

Even though SpongeBob lives in the sea, he can’t swim!

Patrick and Gary the Snail are first cousins.

Krabs was born in 1942, which makes him 71 years old.

The fictional town where SpongeBob lives is called Bikini Bottom. It is shown in the series to be below a real place, Bikini Atoll, which is a former nuclear test site which is still uninhabitable today.

SpongeBob SquarePants was the first cartoon on Nickelodeon to have over 200 episodes.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

As the early nights draw in closer and the winter weather settles in, we would like to tell you about our teams favourite Christmas character, The Grinch! As The Grinch is within our licencing portfolio, we thought we would teach you a little about the Grinch and his history…

‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas!’ is a Christmas children’s story by Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel written in rhymed verse with illustrations by the author. It follows the Grinch, a grouchy, solitary creature who tries to cancel Christmas by stealing Christmas gifts and decorations from the homes of the nearby town of Whoville on Christmas Eve. Miraculously, the Grinch realizes that Christmas is not all about money and presents.

The Grinch is a creature with a heart “two sizes too small.” He resides in a cave on Mount Crumpit, a steep mountain north of Whoville, home of the cheerful and warmhearted Whos. Having been annoyed by Whoville’s noisy Christmas festivities for fifty-three years, the Grinch decides to stop Christmas from coming. He disguises himself as Santa Claus and travels to Whoville on a sleigh with his dog Max. The Grinch slides down the chimney of the first house on the square and steals all the presents, the food for the feast, and the Christmas tree. He is briefly interrupted in his burglary by Cindy Lou Who, a young Who girl, but concocts a crafty lie to help his escape.

After doing the same to the other houses, the Grinch takes his sleigh to the top of Mount Crumpit and prepares to dump the stolen belongings into the abyss. As dawn breaks, he expects to hear the Whos crying, but is shocked to hear them singing a joyous Christmas song instead. The Grinch comes to realise that Christmas “means a little bit more” than just presents and feasting, causing his shrunken heart to grow three sizes larger. The reformed Grinch returns the Whos’ presents and food, and is allowed to take part in their Christmas feast.

The story was published as a book by Random House in 1957, and at approximately the same time in an issue of Redbook. The book criticises the commercialisation of Christmas and the holiday season.

The book has been adapted many times, first as a 1966 animated TV film narrated by Boris Karloff, who also provided the Grinch’s voice. In 1977, a Halloween prequel, Halloween Is Grinch Night, aired with the Grinch voiced by Hans Conried. These were followed with a 2000 live-action feature film starring Jim Carrey, a 2007 musical, a 2018 computer-animated film starring Benedict Cumberbatch, a 2020 live television adaptation of the musical starring Matthew Morrison, and a 2022 slasher horror film adaptation starring David Howard Thornton.
